Wollongong City Council
The Wollongong City Council area was created in 1974 when four local government areas - the Shire of Bulli, Shire of Central Illawarra, Municipality of Wollongong and the Municipality of Northern Illawarra - amalgamated to form the City of Greater Wollongong, which today is simply known as the City of Wollongong.

Wollongong City Council's vision is to be a community focused local authority of excellence and we work hard to fulfil that goal. Our mission is to enhance our community's lifestyle and environment through effective leadership, community involvement and commitment to service.
