The safety of our customers, retailers and community are our priority and as such we are writing to inform you that Wollongong Central has received notification from NSW Health that a customer at the shopping centre has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
The NSW Health Department advise that the affected individual was present within City Beach, Coles, Hero Sushi, JB Hi-Fi and Strandbags on Wednesday, December 23 between 3:30pm & 4:00pm.
As a result, NSW Health has stated that if you have been within any of these stores during the above time and date you are deemed a casual contact. You must get tested immediately and self-isolate until you get a negative result.
We have been informed that each store will temporarily close to conduct a comprehensive deep clean of the tenancy.
Centre Management continues to monitor the situation and will work with the relevant health authorities and governing bodies to follow all advice and guidance issued with regards to COVID-19.
The Wollongong Central team will also continue with precautionary hygiene measures already implemented, including heightened cleaning regimes, hand sanitisers throughout the centre and social distancing messaging in place.
If you have a question related to COVID-19 please call the National Coronavirus Helpline 1800 0202 808 or visit www.healthdirect.gov.au for detailed information.
