Not even the pre-dawn starts of her radio gig dampen Christie Hayes' upbeat nature. The former Home & Away star has traded Summer Bay for the sandy shores of Wollongong and is well-known as one-third of the Marty, Christie and Cram my breakfast show. So, what's charting on this tastemaker's hot list? For Christie, it's all about decadent department store dining. "David Jones Food [Gateway, Level LG] is absolutely amazing" she says. "I love the pastas and they have a really great wine list."
RHYS MARTIN - Hawks Guard & DANIELLE MARTIN - i98FM Producer & Announcer
For this sporty couple, down time is an elusive beast. But in the mix of basketball training with the Hawks and Danielle's busy radio schedule, the pair love to feast at the city's best hotspots. Their go-to cuisine? Think exotic, multicultural flavours, but from opposite ends of the globel 'The best burrito bowls in town are hands-down from Guzman Y Gomez [Keira, Level G]" says Rhys. "They're even better with one of their frozen lemonades." For Danielle, it's all about indulging her sweet tooth at a Wollongong classic. "Kurtosh [Globe Lane, Level G] is my absolute favourite hideaway spot for a cheeky dessert and great cup of coffee!" she says. "Also, they serve dessert by weight... Yes please!"

Whether the forecast is fine and sunny, or it looks like a weekend of Netflix, Tanya Dendrinos is the trustworthy voice of the important weather report across WIN News' regional network. Tanya knows the exact conditions for her favourite gourmet must-do in the city- a sultry, tropical climate, humidity and lots of spice. "I can never go past Thai food and Kinn Thai [Keira, Level LG] is exceptional!" Tanya says. The hotspot is always popular - and bookings are a must, especially on weekends. "It's always buzzing and for good reason; the food is delicious and the service is faultless."

The fairer half of Wave FM's Mel & Trav breakfast show, Adelaide-native Mel Greig is now a proud Wollongong local. This bubbly blonde wasn't born in the region, but her knowledge of quality venues, stylish surrounds and the right places to be seen is top-notch. When it comes to the mark of a good bar, her quality benchmark is simple. "I love a place full of character and personality," says Mel. "The Little Prince [Globe Lane, Level G] is one of my favourite spots to have a cheeky wine or two. It's well-designed and has a great vibe."
